Notice: As of May 18, 2010, the IPC's How to Protect Your Privacy on Facebook: A Step-by-Step Guide, is being removed from circulation and will no longer be updated, as a result of frequent changes by Facebook that make it exceedingly difficult to stay current. Ontario's Information and Privacy Commissioner, Dr. Ann Cavoukian advises that, as a general rule, “think before you post” - when posting anything on Facebook or any other social networking site, users should use the maximum privacy settings for any information that they would like to have restricted to a limited network of social contacts. |
