In a world of increasingly savvy and inter-connected customers, your company’s approach to information privacy may offer precisely the competitive advantage you need to succeed. Privacy is essential in creating an environment that fosters trusting, long-term relationships with existing customers and encourages the development of new ones. Spend the morning with Dr. Ann Cavoukian, the Information and Privacy Commissioner for Ontario, and eight privacy leaders from organizations such as: Intel; IBM; Microsoft; and, Sun as they present their latest innovations in Privacy-Enhancing Technologies (PETs). You will begin to appreciate how “Privacy by Design” - embedding PETs into the architecture of new systems – protects privacy without compromising performance or security – a positive-sum outcome.
“Privacy by Design” – a prescient call to organizations in the ‘90s by Ontario’s Information and Privacy Commissioner, Dr. Ann Cavoukian, helped set the stage for privacy to be built into technology – protecting it from the outset, rather than treating it as an after-thought. Embracing privacy by design, leading companies have turned their privacy problems into privacy solutions. The Commissioner takes it one step further by employing Privacy-Enhancing Technologies (PETs) in a positive sum paradigm to create “Transformative Technologies.” In today’s increasingly connected world, companies employing transformative technologies gain a sustainable competitive advantage. Dr. Cavoukian will provide practical guidance and introduce you to PETs Plus from eight organizations – ones that may literally transform your operations.
Attendees will have opportunities during breakfast and after the session to visit with the speakers and dig down to explore their technologies at various tables throughout the venue.
