Event Details

The Office of the Information and Privacy Commissioner of Ontario is collaborating with Canadian non-profit MediaSmarts to help encourage youth to become more media literate. Each year, MediaSmarts holds a Media Literacy Week to engage schools, libraries, broadcasters, and community groups in helping young Canadians make informed decisions about media. 2012 marks the 7th annual Media Literacy Week, which takes place November 5-9. This year’s theme, “Privacy Matters”, reflects an important social value that we must teach our young Canadians – privacy needs to be designed into the technologies, processes, and physical spaces that surround them. In this way, we can create positive change.
