Ontario Information and Privacy Commissioner, Dr. Ann Cavoukian, along with partners Hydro One, GE, IBM and Telvent, will release a highly-anticipated report next Wednesday that shows the way forward for utilities working to embed privacy into the emerging Smart Grid. The report will be released at DistribuTECH – a major Smart Grid conference staged in San Diego.
The new guidance document, which is based on a cutting-edge Smart Grid pilot project in Owen Sound in Ontario, Canada, is the first of its kind, demonstrating how the principles of Privacy by Design – the gold standard for privacy – can be operationalized as a foundational requirement in Smart Grid systems." |
