Commissioner Cavoukian Issues Open Letter on the Privacy Implications of Federal Government’s Expansive Surveillance Proposal

Summary  TORONTO, October 31, 2011 – Dr. Ann Cavoukian, Ontario Information and Privacy Commissioner, today issued an open letter warning the federal government of the serious implications of proposed “lawful access” legislation. The letter is addressed to Minister of Public Safety Vic Toews and Minister of Justice and Attorney General of Canada Rob Nicholson.
