Commissioner Cavoukian has called on leaders in Ontario’s health sector to help combat the flow of avoidable breaches involving personal health information.

Specifically, the Commissioner has asked health groups to educate members on the simple steps required to prevent the far-too-frequent disclosure of unencrypted data through the loss or theft of portable electronic devices, such as laptops and USB keys.

On this page, you will find links to a series of tools that will support your awareness efforts and provide clear guidance on how to protect personal health information on mobile devices.

"It's a privacy problem of epic proportions, compromising some of the most sensitive and personal types of information possible. And it must stop."

Ann Cavoukian, Ph.D.
