IPC Coming to Windsor – November 30

The Information and Privacy Commissioner (IPC) will be hosting a special event in Windsor on November 30, 2017, as part of the IPC’s Reaching Out to Ontario program. Commissioner Brian Beamish and other IPC executives will use this occasion to update Ontarians on the emerging access and privacy issues facing the province’s health and public sectors. The Commissioner will give an overview of the latest developments at the IPC, including upcoming developments related to Bill 89, which seeks to amend the Child and Family Services Act. This will be followed by two panel sessions, one covering access and privacy issues in detail and the other looking at the latest developments under Ontario’s health privacy laws. Each session will focus on changes to legislation, new policies and procedures, recent decisions and orders and best practices and guidelines for information management.
